“Blockchain is moving beyond cryptocurrency, and it's worth paying attention - especially since successful prototypes show that blockchain, also known as distributed ledger technology, will be transformative.” -Julie Sweet, an expert researcher in Blockchain Technology.
With more than 60 participants, Coffee With Vega was the first ever event hosted by the MIT Cybersecurity and Blockchain club. The programme was inspired by the reality TV show ‘Koffee with Karan’. We interviewed two industry specialists, Dr. Vega Paithankar and Claudius Lazarus of the dHealth Foundation about blockchain technology and its bright future in the world.
Rohan Bhange, the President of the club opened the event and introduced our guests, Dr. Vega Paithankar and Mr. Claudius Lazarus. Dr. Vega Paithankar, the CTO of the dHealth Foundation gave a warm introduction to the audience and acknowledged the club’s efforts on promoting Blockchain Technology.
After the introductions had been placed, the guests were interviewed over some generalised as well as some technical aspects of their life and their work respectively. They were interviewed by Himanshu Gupta, Vice-President and Shrutika Khilare, Blockchain Lead of the club.
Following points were the highlights of the interview discussion:
In your opinion, what does blockchain exactly refer to?
How can blockchain change the future?
Where can we use blockchain technology and what are some real-life examples for it?
How is blockchain trading different from blockchain technology?
What does the dHealth Foundation contribute to and what is the idea behind it?
How is the dHealth Foundation using blockchain technology to benefit society?
What are the job opportunities in blockchain technology?
Conclusion
Overall, this was an exciting and amazing event. It showed the diligent working of the team and their co-ordination towards the first-ever event by the MIT CBC Club. It has given us eagerness to have future events with much more enthusiasm and confidence.
